EASTER 2020
Easter is going to look different this year.
But God is still good, and his glory will still be shown. This year, by preparing our hearts through engaging in daily Holy Moments, and inviting our friends and family like never before, we believe this will be one of our most powerful Easter Sunday experiences yet.
INVITATION RESOURCES
Easter Sunday is a day we believe that our world is more open than ever to the grace of God. And this year, with everything being online, we fully expect more people to “show up” to church than ever before. A “click” on a video is much simpler than a drive to church. Though we know its not the same as meeting face-to-face, we anticpate the Holy Spirit to transform hearts and lives.
Use the images before to share with your friends and family — on social media, via text, or email.

In the week leading up to his resurrection, Jesus experienced a series of holy moments that revealed the glory of who God is, as well as what he desires for all people — to experience his transformational love. Together throughout this week, we are going to walk through those holy moments with Jesus. You can come here everyday to see a daily reflection and action step to help you cultivate holy moments with God.

DAY 1: Palm Sunday
HOLY MOMENT DAY 1: filling up our homes (and feeds) with PRAISE 👏⠀
⠀
*for the next 7 days, we will be taking holy moments out of our days to reflect on the major moments leading up to Easter Sunday.*⠀

REFLECTION: The week before his resurrection, Jesus was riding into Jerusalem on a donkey. A crowd gathered— placing robes and palm branches in his path. They joyfully praised him, shouting “Hosanna, Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!” Some were upset, because this honor was reserved for God alone! But Jesus silenced them, saying “if they are quiet, the rocks will cry out.” All of creation praises him, even the rocks!⠀
⠀
✨YOUR HOLY MOMENT: We challenge you to joyfully praise God in your home. You could read a Psalm out loud, sing along to a worship song, or even play an instrument. Share on your story or feed and tag us!✨

DAY 2: WASHING OF FEET
HOLY MOMENT DAY 2: Jesus washes the disciples feet. 🌊⠀

Read John 13:1-17. Jesus knew that it was almost time for Him to leave this world and be reunited with God His Father. Jesus loved His disciples and wanted to show them how much He loved them. Jesus knew that Judas Iscariot was going to betray Him. He began to wash His disciples’ feet and then dry them. ⠀
⠀
Peter didn’t want Jesus to wash his feet. Jesus said that if He didn’t wash his feet, Peter would have no part with Him. When He finished, He asked the disciples if they knew what He had done for them. He told them that He did that for them, and they should follow His example.
⠀ ⠀
✨HOLY MOMENT: Find a way today to serve others. Call a loved one, deliver groceries, check in on your neighbor. You also can sign up for our response team by going to rCalvary.org/covid19 ✨

DAY 3: THE LAST SUPPER
HOLY MOMENTS DAY 3: THE LAST SUPPER✝️⠀

Jesus was sitting at the table with the disciples. Jesus said that one of the disciples would betray Him. He was talking about Judas. While they were eating, Jesus took the bread, gave thanks, and broke it. He gave it to His disciples and said, “Take this and eat it; this is My body.” In the same way, Jesus took the cup, gave thanks, and gave it to His disciples. Then He said, “Drink from it, all of you.” He told the disciples that His blood would be shed for many for the forgiveness of sins. Jesus had done nothing wrong, but He died so that we may have life. He did this knowing he would be betrayed.
⠀ ⠀
✨HOLY MOMENT: Read the story of the last supper today, out loud. Reflect on Jesus’ sacrifice with your family or those around you.✨⠀

Also don’t forget we will be taking communion on Good Friday. Keep that in mind today as you reflect.
