ROOTED

KNOW GOD. FIND PURPOSE. BUILD COMMUNITY.

Rooted is a groups-based study that calls followers of Jesus back to our original purpose: to be rooted in a relationship with God, and to live as a reflection of His love and power.

We will be running rooted groups again in Fall 2021. Email us now by clicking below to save your spot.

DISCOVER ROOTED.

We believe that Rooted has something for everyone. Below are some of the frequently asked questions about Rooted.

Do you still have questions? Shoot an email to John Iaucci, our Discipleship Director, at  john.iacucci@rcalvary.org to connect.

What is Rooted?

Rooted is a transformative, discussion-based experience where you can grow to become more like Jesus.

Where does Rooted come from?

Rooted is a study based in Nairobi, Kenya, and adapted for the American church by Mariners Church in California.

Why is our church participating in Rooted?

We believe that through the Rooted content, individual study, and group conversation, our church family will see transformation as God renews our minds and calls us back to life with Him.

Who can and should participate in Rooted?

We have Rooted groups available for all ages, beginning in 9th grade. We believe that regardless of age or background, or what point you are at in your walk with God, there is something to take away from Rooted that will help you in your relationship with God.

When is Rooted taking place?

The dates for our Fall 2021 Rooted session will be announced soon. Groups will meet on different nights of the week, and you can put down what night works best for you when you sign up. We will find a group that fits your schedule.

How often will my Rooted group meet?

Your group will meet on a weekly basis for 10 weeks. This is a big commitment, but we believe it is a powerful one to take in your faith journey.

Can I do Rooted in an online group?

We have Rooted groups available for you both in-person and online. Our groups that meet in person will follow all CDC social distancing guidelines and will meet at Calvary Assembly. If you feel safer in a digital group, we are happy to accommodate this through online group meetings.

Is there a cost for participating in Rooted?

Each Rooted participant will be charged $15 to cover the cost of the Rooted workbook. If you are in need of financial assistance to purchase this workbook, you can email john.iacucci@rcalvary.org.

Are you providing child care for Rooted?

We are not offering childcare at church, but we will reimburse you for childcare in your home. Contact John Iacucci to get set up with this.

SUNDAYS @Second!

Sundays are about growing in faith in Jesus. Students begin in the auditorium for worship and are released after about 20 minutes to head to our lower level. Here we connect with new friends and have a non-pressured faith conversation. The experience all together lasts about 65 minutes and we hope you leave encouraged and challenged in your spiritual journey.

The first Sunday of each month, students will stay in the auditorium for the message.

WEDNESDAYS @Second!

Wednesdays are the most exciting night of the week! Every week a powerful and relevant message from scripture is preached, and students are given a chance to respond to the nights message.  Wednesdays alternate between small group nights (where students and volunteers connect by playing, learning and praying together) and worship nights (where our student led band, EMBERS, lead songs of worship and praise to Jesus).

Our messages are based out of the Bible, which we believe to be God-breathed and useful for our lives today. On Wednesday nights, we learn from engaging teaching, worship with our student team, take time to pray together or individually, and reflect on how we can become closer with our God. If you have never come, we encourage you to check it out!

My name is Steven Nichols and I am the Youth Director at Calvary Assembly! I am absolutely thrilled to be in this position and to be given the chance to work with your children and help lead them to all that God has planned for them.

I live in a neighborhood in Gates where my wife, Moriah, and I purchased our first home. When I am not actively involved in our youth  ministry, I throughly enjoy reading and training in martial arts. Moriah is an extremely gifted vocalist and piano player and can make any song sound like a billboard hit. I cannot. When we go out on dates together we both enjoy exploring the surrounding area looking for a restaurant we have not tried yet, searching for the best food our city has to offer. But for us, the best day is a simple and quiet one.

Although I am still working full time as an electrician for my father’s company, I want you to know I am available for you, for your son or daughter, and to help encourage our students towards the unique calling God has for their life! Don’t hesitate to email, call, or text me. I am looking forward to getting to know you!

Come as you are. You don’t have to dress up or pretend like you have it all together. We will meet for 65 minutes and in that time we will sing some songs about God’s love, have an engaging teaching that will encourage and challenge you, and participate in prayer that inspires you.

A lot of our lives is spent doing the SAME things. After all, we have reoccurring responsibilities. Faithfulness is the term the Bible uses for this.

There comes a time when we are called to do the NEXT thing. This
is not a call to stop doing the regular things. Rather, it is a reminder that we don’t have to be limited by them. In fact, the
NEXT thing is possible because of faithfulness. You have faithfully prayed, served, and given generously. As a result our current facility is used three times on Sunday (and throughout the week) to connect people to - and help people grow in - God’s grace.

Every week we hear stories of people daring to hope again, finding freedom, and feeling loved and accepted. And if this was all God accomplished through us, we would be glad and grateful.

But with God there is always a NEXT. There are still individuals and families who have not been exposed to the grace of God. There are still people who have disconnected from faith and have not yet found their way back home. Since God is not done with them, He is not done with us.

Our mission is to provide a safe place for people to find authentic faith, risk real relationships and discover the future God has planned for them.

Our problem - we can’t provide a safe place if we are out of space.

Beginning on the first Sunday in October our church family will begin to take the NEXT step. We cannot do this alone. The faith and finances necessary for a project of this size will require each and every person to dare to pray bold prayers and boldly respond to God’s direction.

NEXT reminds us of God’s unfailing love and unwavering effort to reach each and every one.

NEXT reminds us that our dreams can be brighter than our memories.NEXT reminds us that the best is yet to come.
